What we really wanted to know:

Shari (Stockinger) and I were married in 1975 after undergrad. Right out of grad school I went to work for Johns Hopkins University's Applied Physics Lab, where I did R&D for the DoD. I also got involved in biomedical research and was a fellow and research associate in anesthesiology and critical care medicine. I retired in April 2022 so that I could spend my time commercializing a medical device that I co-invented.

I am at the bottom of the pecking order of a house full of pets (fur, fin, and feather) and plants--and loving every minute of it. Shari and I spend a lot of time volunteering. We were two of three co-founders (1990) of a non-profit organization to bring animal assisted therapy to primary care hospitals; the organization is still thriving 30+ years later.

If I had it all to do over, I would...

If I had to do it all over again, not much would change regarding the family. But, I would think twice about doing a start-up company at age 70. Alternatively, I'd probably run a beach umbrella stand someplace in Hawaii...
