Has it really been almost 50 years? It seems like yesterday I would hear someone yell "Hey Clem" walking down the hallway. That was my affectionate nickname in high school.
I attended Nassau Community College and received an associate's degree. While there, I met and fell in love with Tony Moors. We eventually were married in November of 1964 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hicksville. The next day, we headed for Mare Island Naval Shipyard in Vallejo, California. We drove across country in my green Corvair. Imagine that. I was a navy wife from then until our timely discharge in May of 1969 from Tony's duty station in London, England.
We wound up in Minnesota where our son was born. That was Minneapolis in March of 1970. About the same time, we bought a shack on the water in Mastic Beach. I had a job working at Eastern Federal Savings and Loan. Tony had a job working at Grumman in Bethpage. We "retired" (Quit...or in Tony's case was riffed) in '87 & '90.
We move to condo land in Florida in 1993 after living in our 20 foot Recreational Vehicle (RV) for 14 months while searching for "roots."
We still travel every summer in our now 20-year-old Winnebago. We enjoy cruising the rest of the year. We, Tony and me, teach adult crafts on Carnival and we do additional cruising on our own while just relaxing.
I took advantage of Savings and Loan courses offered at Eastern Federal. It paid off in dividends as when I did retire, it was as a bank manager.
Hobbies include play Texas Hold-em, Sudoku, knitting, reading and cruising. I also volunteer time at a local hospital in Bokeelia.
