People Looking for People
We've taken a new approach to this section. It's been re-organized by Henry Lichtenstein as an online spreadsheet. Rather than publish the list here, it's now available below. If you have found the person you are looking for, please let the editors know so the name can be removed from the list. If there's someone you're looking for, just send your request and we'll be happy to add it to the list. If anyone knows these folks, send an email to:

HICKSVILLE VIETNAM WAR ERA MEMORIAL - PROJECT UPDATE
Still no new progress this month due to the continuance of the Pandemic. We are pleased to tell you that our core action team remains safe and in good health. We are thankful for this and hope the same is true for each of our readers and alumni.
While further action is at a current stand still, please remember that the Memorial is complete and can be viewed by anyone visiting the Memorial Gardens located on the south side of the Jerusalem Avenue Middle School.
This project will be officially completed once we are able to conduct an official Dedication Ceremony at the Memorial. While we haven't been able to report on new donations since the end of February with Bill Walden still in South Carolina, if you have sent a donation and your check has yet to clear, it's simply because Bill has not been able to deposit it in our account.
We expect to be able to update our donation status for the August 1st issue of HixNews. New donations are still welcome to help defray Dedication Ceremony and future Memorial maintenance costs. Details on making a donation appear in the Update.
We trust all readers are staying safe at this difficult time. As always, should you wish to make any comments on the Update, please email me at
On behalf of the Project Team,
Joe Carfora, HHS 1962

Cars That Never Made it to Production
The 1954 OLDS didn't make it but was auctioned off for $6,000.000.00 in Arizona by Barrett Jackson.
They were pure fantasy on wheels machines designed to make the heart race and the mind ask, "What if?"
These 1950s concept cars were automotive art built to attract public attention, test wild engineering ideas and give motorists a fleeting glimpse down the highway of tomorrow.

Memory Lane
Over 100 Years Ago, Artists Were Asked to Depict the Year 2000, These Were The Results
March 30, 2020
Here's something I think you'll find quite interesting... These crazy images were created by French artist Jean-Marc Cote, and a few others back in 1899, 1900, 1901, and 1910.
The point being, well, basically they were asked to imagine what life would be like in the year 2000. According to Collective-Evolution , these artworks were originally in the form of postcards or paper cards enclosed in cigarette and cigar boxes.
The images depict the world as it was imagined it would be like in the year 2000. Some of these unique illustrations are actually quite accurate vision of the current era today, including farming machines, robotic equipment, and flying machines. Now we haven't started riding giant seahorses yet, although it does look like one hell of a good time.
